These roof mounts are excellent for flat roofs. We could have bolted a tripod to other pole to this Ibeam but the roof mount is simple to use. Most situations one would add concrete blocks to hold down. Our other roof location we uned u-bolts to attach to a short ladder mounted to the building.

Ordinary circumstances for power the rangemaster uses a wall transformer "Wall Wart" and the total maximum consumption of this unit is less than 500 milliamps.

We lucked out with this location because normally you need a good earth ground but this building is grounded better than average and when we switched on this unit the coverage to the south and west was significant meaning less effort will be needed later to fill holes or just add to this one. The Rangemaster is the only transmitter which allows for multiple units in several different arrangements.

We offer discounts for multiple units at www.trutham.com

For the roof mount you can search "flat roof mount dish"
The Station ID at the end - we can make them for our customers too.

  • We have been visited by the FCC. It really depends which agent does the visit. They are familiar with these radios as well as local codes for safety. This is on a commercial facility. For insurance we also have the backing of the Sheriff who has power and authority over any FCC issuance in the future - which the FCC agents actually admitted they have been thrown off properties by a county sheriff in other states.

  • @MichaelJGrant Sorry, but the only thing that's too long is the power cable which doesn't count under part 15 AM. The transmitter is all in in that box and the antenna is sticking out of the top.

  • @zappatx There are FCC regulations and then there are enforcement actions. Enforcement actions are subject to due process such as warrants. Part 15.290 definitely gives the FCC the right of inspection but that right can only be enforced with an order of the court. The downside is failure to permit inspection is in itself a violation. It's pretty safe bet if the FCC has went to the trouble of getting a warrant, there will be penalties which are draconian.

  • Pardon the observation, but your antenna and ground lead appear to exceed 3 meters in length.

  • nice video !

  • Dude you rock! tell me more about the xmiter!
