  • Why does Gregg have to be "better" than Steve or Arnel? Why can't they all be just what they are with a terrific band that gave us three terrific singers?

  • @naughtmoses Simply because he was better.

  • Yes I agree, Rolie's vocals were better, I have no Idea why they went with Steve Perry cause they were much better without him, maybe it was for the commercial stardom that they were after???

  • I completely agree.

  • The first 2 albums sounded like a different band. So much better than the catchy bubblegum, built for little kids sound.

  • @NORSKize Amen on that, absolutely a true statement.

  • @TheBeaugraham I couldn't have said it better myself, Journey was actually a damn good rock n roll band prior to Steve Perry, I'm not saying Steve has a bad voice but they went way off into the commercial direction that made them sound too darn pop-ish, sorry Steve but Journey was way better before you entered the band and thats just MY opinion.

  • i liked steve, but the early stuff is tight, arnel sucks, the new journey is like kindel it s not rock, it s not reading, its a cheap thrill, a quick fix

  • @NORSKize the first 3.

  • @Hvacrmitch Amen brother!

  • @TheJVRMAN Greg Rolie was the best rock vocalist of the '70's, bar none. Santana lost a major contributor when he left. Replacing him with that whiny-voiced cocksucker Steve Perry was about the most disgusting commercialization of rock&roll of the entire "70's.

  • @NORSKize Steve Perry took what was a great band and reduced them to bubblegum pop, of the "OK kiddies, let's boogie!" variety. What a waste of a talented and innovative band.

  • I had the first two Journey albums. Awesome music! Definitely Greg Rolie's vocals were far superior to the later stuff. I just didn't buy any more of their albums.
