Finally, a video that's longer than 5 seconds!! I decided to make this - sorry if it's a little melodramatic - to explain my goal to any newcomers that view this page and to showcase some of my latest test renders and animations. Unfortunately there are some mistakes that I feel obligated to point out before people begin bashing me:

- The green running light in the "Wing Cab (Starboard)" picture is way too bright and appears to be leaking out in impossible places. This is a test render, and I'm not sure why it did that because it's never done that before. It will be fixed in later versions.
-Two of the images don't have the deck textured - yes, I'm aware of it.
-The captions are kind of gaudy ... I wanted something kind of professional but also fairly casual. It's just a template I modified slightly.
-The animation does kind of pause slightly near the middle/end, that's because the keyframes got screwed up somehow. It's not intentional.

I will be continuing to add animations and test renders as the project continues, so please subscribe if you're interested.

For those interested, the music is "Rose" from the Titanic soundtrack performed by I Salonisti (the group that performed the classical music in the film). It's freely available on I Salonisti's website.

Also I'm friendly (I swear) so if you want to talk about the Titanic or 3d modeling/rendering, or if you want to share resources (pictures/tutorials/etc.), I'm all ears.

Enjoy and comments are appreciated!

  • fantastic!! congratulations!!

  • @DAVSALO85 thanks!!

  • Very nice 5/5

    Im modelling one too,

what are you using for reference?

do you have bruce beveridges blueprints?

  • Yep, sorry it took so long to get back to you, I'm using his plans for some things (like window placements since they're easier to read) but I'm also using Peter Davies-Garner's plans as found in his book which show some of the smaller details from all four sides :)

  • what program are you using? And is this model for a game??

  • I'm using 3ds max, and this is just a personal project, I'm not modeling it for anything except to better understand what the ship looked like and all her different components.

  • Epic

  • i think you must see hudizzle titanic model . he almost finished the model

  • Also, it was not six telegraphs, it was four. The model seems kind of compressed to me.

  • It may seem accurate in most eyes, but I noticed one thing that you may want to take a look at. The Wheel is far to close to the wall of the wheelhouse. The telegraph at starboard and port is too close to the walls. The wheel is rather big, don't you think?

I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just giving you the feedback you may need.

  • If you have them as an image file would you mind send some them it to me. I have only ordered Bruce Beveridges plans on a papar.

  • What a beautiful song, and your model is amazing. It must've taken hours of hard work. I'm a HUGE Titanic junkie! The model is also very accurate so far, keep up the great work! :)
