@Ambearlee It won't necessarily void a warranty on a phone. You aren't tampering with it, just a USB cable. Unless you blow up your phone with this method, which is quite possible, as I'm about to attempt on my old phone to get my contacts back. lmao.

So long as the port on the phone isn't fucked up, just use the external port and do the identical thing.

Simply take a kitchen knife, and gently scrape the rubber off the the wire. The knife, will of course be parallel to the wire that you're stripping.
