Pakistan raises the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at UN

Rather than beating the same old drum at the United Nations Pakistan should take a credible action against the militants in order to have a meaningful dialogue with India. The unacceptable reference to the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir saying that the people have been denied the right to exercise their right to self determination holds no truth. The people in the state regularly participate in free, fair and open elections. Instead of talking the same old talk, thinking it was imperative to bring peace, stability and progress in South Asia Pakistan should concentrate on combating terrorism and setting its own house on order on the other side of the border with India.

ICC prosecutor Moreno Ocampo to visit Kenya

As Kenya awaits the big visit by ICC prosecutor Moreno Ocampo, the internally displaced persons have lined up their petitions among which they want Ocampo to spearhead the prosecution of President Mwai Kibaki and Prime minister Raila Odinga. Most of the IDPs who are still living in camps years after the violence have lost hope of living decent lives ever and their aggression towards the two principals is as a result of their failure to live up to their promise of resettling them to safe places. He has already written to the president requesting him to allow ICC to investigate and try kingpins of post-election violence. If Ocampo's signal is anything to go by Kibaki and Raila might be forced to make hard decisions that may see some of their closest confidants coming into collision with the law. All eyes are on Ocampo and we all hope that his current position would persist until justice comes to our door steps.

Hillary Clintons statement on Jewish settlements angers Arab leaders

Palestinians were failed once again by the American Administration in regards with the Jewish settlements' freezing on Palestinian land. American president Barak Obama's team apparently was unsuccessful in "convincing" Israeli government of freezing the settlements; a mission that no previous American president was successful at or even wanted to be successful at in the first place. However, this failure will definitely affect the peace process, an issue that no previous american president got a Nobel prize for; which makes this failure a great one for Obama's image in the world of those who strive for peace.
