That is the work of a cat. Sadly, on more than one occasion, I have seen my cat carry a rabbit into the yard, by the neck,
then lay down in the grass and eat only the head. You'd be surprised at the clean, sharp cuts those carnivorous teeth can make. I have seen her eat at least a half dozen rabbit heads and she always leaves the bodies untouched. I find the bodies around the yard all summer. Her bowl is always filled with food, but regardless, I guess it's her instinct. It's very unpleasant!

Maybe it was a poacher, left from that prairie/wooded area, crossed through your yard leaving the woods, rabbit's head was cut off as it wasn't yet dead, accidently dropped it from his game bag on the way out?

if it was an animal the body would be mutilated

Aliens...

I saw a fly in my kitchen today get decapitated. I didn't do anything to it at all. It just fell from the air, head missing, still trying to fly.

It is clearly the work of the extraterestrial genetic harvest.
These kind of mutulations have been going on since...well,the 70's.
You should watch the history chanell buddy. It will explain some things to you.
As you said, there is NO trail of blood. From my point of perspective it is done by some sort of an alien tool. You can only see the blood inside the rabbit.
And nowhere else.Give me the name of ONE human tool that can do the exact
same thing without spilling the blood of another rabbit.

that a clean cut for a animal to do it

Maybe you have a pshco on the loose in your area, And maybe they did it at night?

I found one literally 5 minutes ago, went on the internet to see what couldve done it. The neighbor has two cats. Its head was clean off, nothing else was missing from the rabbit.
ws there any blood stains in the grass that sugested a path of carry?

@rullf1985 No blood trail. I had been in the back garden doing yard work since about 11am that morning - I would have noticed somone coming on the property.

@rextinctione There seems to be a handful of these cases reported across the country. Looks to be an act of nature, but it's still pretty wierd.
