  • So smart guy where are you going to put the rest of traffic that was using that road.

  • The risk is not that high.  In the Netherlands we have 181 cycling deaths of the total 780 traffic deaths in 2008(42% car drivers). We are a country of 16 million people and about 50% uses their bikes daily, thus 8 million people use their bikes every day. We mostly have separated bike lanes, except in 20 mph zones. With these lanes you know where the risk is and thus can anticipate and be more carefull at intersections. Thus not that much risk although the intersecions are the dangerous area's.

  • Careful with that completly seperated bike lans, they carrry more risk of beeing overrun by some one turning right.

  • can motorcyclists use these, and if not why?

    they are just as defenceless as cyclists
