How to remove, clean, and reinstall the throttle body on a 4.2 inline 6 trailblazer.

This procedure is usually done if the engine idles rough or stalls with the a/c or defrost on AFTER the battery has been disconnected.

I also show an alternate method for resetting the pcm. (I found this tip in a post by mwfaith1971 on trailvoy)

  • Is the throttle aauator control module (TAC) module a part of the thrittle body?

  • @hblockmon Not in the I6. Unlike other GMs we don't have an independent TAC module, the logic is contained in the PCM. The tbody only has the motor and the two sensors, the gas pedal assembly has the two APP sensors,

  • @alec1381 Yeah man the mileage in my 03 TANKED when I had the p0128. Just needed a tstat and all was well again. Thanks for the update and good luck with fixing yours!

  • @MAY03LT Finnaly found out what code it was P0128 , Ive got a bad thermostat. its been 2 ticks to the left of 210 and have been getting horrible gas Mileage seems like its pretty easy to change out the thermostat. i plan to do this spring.

  • hey whats up, i was on here maybe a month ago asking why the truck was reving from 600 to 13k while sitten with the heat on after i did the work. i checked all hoses and re-re-set the pcms. i think it didnt reset the first time because after i did that the problem was gone. thx for the videos, great help.
