From Cantor Moshe Friedler's tutelage at Congregation Rodeph Sholom in Tampa to appearing professionally in Las Vegas, New York City and on cruise ships galore, homegrown boy Sammy Port has arrived. The son of Barbara and Marty Port, Sam was raised in Tampa and after graduating from college, started out as a theme park manager for Disney at age 22. "I was fulfilling a life time ambition of working around roller coasters," he notes, readily admitting his obsession with the flying demons. He now calls New York City his home and supports himself by singing and acting professionally. One of his favorite roles was Benny in Rent. Watch our video interview with Sam and learn how he got a lucky break in the theatre world and how he's making a name for himself, all the while having fun.
