Buy a Nikon D7000, It's a DSLR from Nikon (obviously) and it has continuous Face detecting Auto Focus which would be great for you :)

Technically the Nikon J1 is a Micro 4thirds camera i really love this camera the video quality kinda sucks as its interlaced but overall a great camera keep up the work and keep that flickr updated
