This is part 1 of 8 of a video from Aprovecho Research Center (www.aprovecho.org) showing how to build a large rocket stove from readily available materials. The rocket stove design uses significantly less fuel than an open fire to cook an equivalent amount of food, and it produces significantly less smoke and carbon monoxide. The stove design includes a chimney, so it can be used indoors when properly installed and vented.

  • @toelesshoe If it was left on top, only the bottom would be heated. By forcing the air up the sides, a *lot* more heat is transferred into the pot.

  • @cdltpx 3lb of wood scraps will bring 8 gallons of water to a boil, probably taking 6-8 minutes, based on similar designs.

  • VERY nice and well designed!!! Great job man!!!

  • I was wondering what the advantage is to inserting the pot into the barrel as apposed to leaving the the top on the barrel and resting the pot on top.

  • LITRES COMON,,, YOUR IN AMERICA RIGHT??

  • That thing would make a perfect crawfish boiler. How long does it take to get it to boil? We boil crawfish around here in Louisiana USA and usually use propaine boilers sounds like a rocket when the boiler is cranked up.
