In this clip, with the Irish trailing Michigan 27-26 late in the fourth quarter, the Notre Dame drives it into field goal range for a 51-yard attempt by Harry Oliver. Oliver's kick was good and the Irish pulled out the victory, 29-27.

  • Did Michigan ever lose a game where they didn't have an excuse for losing, judging by the responses below (desb. & tigersfan) the answer is obvious, no.

  • Lou turned into a pro wrestler there at the end

  • I was a student in the student section. After Harry kicked it, the whole student body seemed to fall right on top of me. Awesome Irish memory!

  • john wangler played this game hurt for michigan and almost won it...

  • That pass interference call was terrible. Marion Body was just making a play on the ball. Too bad Michigan got shafted on that. If things caught a break and won this game, they probably beat S Carolina the week after and go undefeated for the year. Michigan had a great team that year. I can't ever get over this loss.

  • My dad was at this game. He talks about it any time we go to a ND game.

  • that was kind of a long shot-gun formstion, i thought he might kick it

  • i got bleir kiel's autograph, he's a real nice guy.
