in the battle of thermopylae on the last day the helots put on the armour of their dead greek companions and fought right in the phalanx as heavy infantry

@TheFirestormable How could Greece be in Civil War if it wasn't a unified state? Furthermore Rome's defeat of Carthage and Macedonia in its early years of foreign conquest were hardly given victories. Additionally they crushed states such as Pontus, Thrace, the Seleucids due to having a proper professional army that demonstrated superior tactics in the face of a numerically superior enemies. To deny Rome's tactical and strategical prowess is akin to saying Newton was a moron.

@arabiancowofdeath by having the best soldiers in the known world at that time, and the empires they faught were allready collapsing. greece was in civil war, carthage was suffering large revolts and the barbarien tribes where fighting each other. not to mention other small factors like the numidians helping the romans, among other people.

SPARTA-CEPTION!!!!

Why do your spartans look like that? Mine are wearing red cloaks and small gold hats

@skylandergool What? Yes, spartans were the best of the best in their time, but to kill a thousand romans? God, you must be kidding me! The movie 300 is far from accurate; the numbers are extremely exagerated! Try to learn history from somewhere else than movies like 300! And you know what? The Romans actually conquered a great part of Greece!

@Juggernaught555 Yuo are saying that the Romans had inferior strategy compared to other ancient militaries? My god, they are famous for having the greatest tactics of the ancient world! Please, learn history from something other than 300.
