@toymachinethunder - It's a harpsichord - It's like a piano only it plucks the string when a key is pressed. A piano strikes the string. See Wikipedia. Too bad the digital age can't duplicate (reproduce) what these guys did on vinyl.

does anyone know the instrument used in the very beginning? sounds like a stringed instrument.

what's up with that PHAT beat @ 0:10?

Such a great album and one filled with wonderful songs written by so many talented singers all held together with Curt Boettcher's amazing arrangements!

Brilliant track! I love this album a lot.

It was used in the movie Super High Me.

@ColossusOfRhodes- Nobody (DJ) has a song called "wake up and smell the millenium" which is basically an awesome sample of Prelude... That was the first place I heard this.

Not a skip, I think. It was probably separated into two tracks when ripped from CD, a slight pause when joining them is all. It transitions smoothly on vinyl, as long as there are no scratches there; it probably does on the CD too, but I can't say for certain, I only have it on vinyl.

thanks!

This is such a beautiful album. Prelude/TCoT is one of the best openings to an album EVER.
