This has got to be one of my all time favorite knives.
It's light enough for comfortable Cary, but strong enough for the toughest jobs out there. This model is the reverse tanto blade shape, and it is also available in a clip point blade. But the reverse tanto as you will see in my tests penetrates more than good enough, and if it lacks at all in that aspect, it makes up for it with it's superior strength. It's literally as sharp as a razor, and will hold an edge for an amazingly long time - do to the S30V steel and the impeccable heat treatment.
There is absolutely nothing about the knife I would change.
Not a thing. The only draw back is the steep price point....
Roughly going to be around $200!
Given what it returns though, even if it is $200, I still believe after almost a year of owning it, that it is completely worth it for the all out "good knife" enthusiast.
My rating is 15/15

  • i have the 940 and i have blade play up and down and side to side i tighten the pivot screw and the side to side goes away but then i can barley open my knife, in then the pivot screw loosens in then i'm back to square 1. can u suggest anything for me to do?

  • @XxZeRoGravityxX101 I would loosen the pivot screws up as much as possible without dissembling the knife, then clean and oil the pivot area and washers as much as possible. Then tighten as much as you can while still being able to open the knife well.

If that's not enough, then you will have to disassemble the knife and clean the washers and such well. Make sure you oil it well before resembling. Keep in mind that disassembling the knife voids warranty as far as I know.

  • Also, that strip in on the spine of the handle is anodized titanium.

  • @kaos2468 Okay....that makes sense. Thanks

  • Nice blade tho I don't understand why they have not added some jimping on the flat part on the top of the blade...

  • @lormar73 I guess it wouldn't hurt anything, but for the majority of your use I don't think you'd ever have your thumb that far out on the blade.

  • I'm a leftie too and finding a good knife has been a nightmare, i'm going to pick this up today!

  • Just got my 940 about a month ago, and i'm in love with this blade! I live in Oregon and went to tour the facility and got it while i was there. It will be one that's in my EDC for a very, very long time.

  • Awesome video. I especially liked the first minute showing the knife in use. In my experience with spyderco, strider, and zero tolerance s30v they've all chipped around the first inch of the tip. Probably how I use them but I am looking forward to trying benchmade's s30v. My wife is getting me a 940 for my birthday next week so I'm excited.
