This is my 2nd week flying the T-REX 250. I think I'm progressing well. I've started to move it forward a bit, and began to pirouette a little also.

  • hey, i want to know how this heli performs indoors like homes and such, and against winds. and yeh, is it suitable for fliers that move from fixed pitch single axial? btw, i might be flying with floats and stuff on yeh, so may i also please ask what the mtow (max takeoff weight - cargo) is for the trex 250

  • @SamuelChung94 I moved from a Blade CX which is a coaxial helicopter and did fine. I must warn you that setup and attention to detail are critical. My 250 flies great. I hovered mine in the garage, but I think inside a house wouldn't be enough room. The blades spin around 4000 rpm. If you’re just starting out, the wind will be tricky. FFF is fine in wind, it’s just the stationary hovering. I haven't put floats on my 250, but have on my 450 and it flies fine.

  • trex 250 is best micro helicopter i ve ever seen! i crashed 5 times and all what i had to change is one main shaft and blades ! this heli kicks ass!!

  • I've had a few mishaps and you're right parts are pretty cheap. I seem to break the blades every time and my feathering shaft is usually bent & of course the main gear is always stripped. I've replaced the main blade grips, side frame, & tail blades once. The only time I have had to replace the main shaft is when the one way seized and I couldn't remove it from the main gear.

  • how do the mechanics hold up during is that true that the tail bearing heats up and seizes

  • I don't think its the heat that seizes up the bearing. I think that the bearing doesn't like side load and with the tail spinning around 10000 rpm, it seems to take around 20oz of force to move it. A guy named heim joint did some youtube videos with a force gauge showing this. I think my servo has more torq and might be masking 'problems' mine might be having, I don't know. I just know that my tail seems smooth and is working fine. I'll work with a totally stock servo and tail next week.

  • @rickgode ah thanks Rickgode! ah i wnat a 450, but then the probs is that i dont have enough room... not indoors at least, nor out. :/ because then you have to move to the flying grounds which are pretty far away. and judging that i live in hkg. the space is limited ):

  • I think your gonna love it. I only have experience with the Logitech 2100 gyro and the micro servo it comes with for the tail. I think it has more torq than the stock servo so I don't have any of the terrible problems that others seem to have with their tail. Mine just worked. A buddy I fly with has the super combo and his tail is giving him fits. I've only set up this one heli, but he wants me to take a look at his, so we will see how that goes.

  • Thanks! I've just gotten pretty good at FF and have just posted a vid of that. The last time I tried "3d" I attempted a loop, but went back to my plane roots and tried to correct drift by using the rudder. The heli landed on my roof. Not too much damage, as it was up in about a week and flies as good if not better than it ever did.

  • I use a Futaba 10C, with a Spektrum module. It has worked flawless.
