  • William Hartnell doesn't get half the recognition he deserves for playing the Doctor!

  • One of the best Doctors we've ever had. People always just remember him as "the First Doctor" which isn't a bad thing, but they tend to remember him as the starting line, and forget just how good he was. He was more than just Prototype A, he was fully and completely the Doctor, the same Doctor that his friends at the Academy knew, the same eyes that looked into the Vortex and the same feet that started running. And I'm no less in love with his Doctor just because he doesn't look like Tennant.

  • See!!! I told my friends that William Hartnell is the best!! :-) I <3 the Aztecs!!!

  • @TheMetalsour Leaves are too thick.

  • the doctor was holdin cannabis plant , "its from a herb, its used by our medicine men to induce sleep, but the leafes are harmless" xD

  • Quite honestly, the Aztecs is definitely one of my favorite serials. Especially for the Doctor's interaction with Cameca here.

Compared to today's Doctor Who - it shows how young he is, even with an old face. :)

  • @statetheobv I like 'david tenant' too, but I like 'David Tennant' even more. This is not boring. Old doctor who actually had proper plots and they were longer which meant that everything didn't have to be so quick like today's doctor who and the stories actually had time to breathe. Without classic doctor who like this, you wouldn't be saying 'david tenant is aweosme'. The winner of the poll for the best doctor who story ever was a story from 1984, not today's inferior who. Surprise surprise.

  • @NGTicotin No. It was intended as half education/ half sci-fi. The historicals are education, and the future or earth invasions are sci-fi.

  • @foreyeproductions Not most, Just most of the episodes from the 60's. All the episodes of Classic who from the 3rd doctor onwards exist, but the first two doctors, William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton, have had alot of their episodes wiped from existence and lost in other countries. All the other doctor's episodes are fine but the first two, especially the second doctor, have alot of stories lost which is a big shame.

  • I haven't seen this story, but i've heard great things about it and really want to. I know what William Hartnell got ill during his time as the doc got on so he fluffed his lines a bit, but that adds to the grandad feel. He is just magic in this clip. Really! He is so underrated. My favourite doctor is Patrick Troughton but William Hartnell deserves alot more praise than he ever got. Such as shame he died so early. If only he was around today to see the success Doctor Who has now..

  • @NGTicotin not really... the second serial had daleks in it
