i never sanded the area but on some instances i used aceton to clean the area with. i was glad to find such good adhesive sealer.

That's an interesting thought, however EternaBond doesn't need primer, just a clean surface. I've used it on EPDM rubber roofs; I've had patches put on two years ago still hanging in there like Grim Death

If you don't use primer first, that patch will curl in 6 months and be useless....Use the primer ALWAYS...
