Batista abolished capital punishment in 1956. The revolution was successful for the very same reason as Idi Amin was successful; because Castro managed to trick a large number of people and have them join him.
Maybe you should cite a reason why two million cubans left their home country after the revolution?

Anyone who Che ordered to be executed deserved it. Yes, heroes often need to kill enemies and traitors.

@ozmodiar88 seriously? You think he went to put himself at risk against fascists and America's snitches over an argument?
I'm tired of capitalist sympathisers pretending to know the innermost relations of Ernesto and Fidel.
The lack of support was a result of nationalist sentiments- propaganda portrayed the Guerillas as Cuban invaders, when in actual fact of course the majority were Bolivians. And Che had plenty of arguments with the soviets whilst at Cuba, and often frustrated them READSOME

Who are you coming with facts and statistics?

Che, a racist mass-murdering quasi-fascist communist who is worshiped by liberal communist anti-racist anti-"fascists" worldwide.

Has anybody experienced or known anybody who was inprisoned in La cabana or la isla de Pino?? Then shut the fuck up!!!!!!!!! My father served 6 years in that hell hole for telling state officials to" Bete pa la Pinga!!!!" So they threw him in jail after taking his business away. So keep reading ladies what socialism is, but please talk to people who have lived it. Cuba is in total shambles, its rotted building have no water, meat is illegal, and one must steal and barter 2 survive.
It would be easy to say that all is fair in love and war but unfortunately the execution of enemies without trials seems to stretch the boundaries.. He is not worshipped for his cruelty, he is worshipped because he was willing to be cruel. To do what others couldnt for the sake of his people and his ideals. Western leaders kill more people in a single day. Nobody is saying war is a clean game. The pages of history are dictated by the victors.

The victors were the commies in this case; if the commies had lost, then he wouldn't be hailed as a hero.
Secondly, George W. Bush or whoever doesn't command the war in Iraq directly, as if it were a match in Red Alert. Pulling out of the country just like that, would create one helluva civil war.
Fidel Castro and his minions never served the people anymore than Adolf Hitler, Francisco Franco, Nicolae Ceaucescu or Fulgencio Batista, for that matter.

You say he had an expensive watch as if you trying to say he was into luxury or something. Indeed he could have lived a life of luxury, instead, he chose to spread his ideals around the world. He went to Bolivia to start a second revolution. The conditions of a guerilla are hadly luxurious, he chose to suffer in the jungle rather than live in luxury.

He went to Bolivia to gain more power after an argue with Fidel Castro. His Chevrolet Impala (bought after the revolution) was actually more expensive than his Rolex watch.
Because many Bolivians knew what the communists did to Cuba, nobody wanted to support Che Guevara replace a corrupt regime with an even more corrupt regime and serve as puppets for the Soviet Union.

@ozmodiar88 fascinated by the rolex watch stuff. Did you know that even though he had a rolex watch, he lived on his wages from the army? He didn't get wages while working at the national bank, and he did volunteer labour. If you're going to state facts, state them all.

If he lived on his wages from the army, how is it then that he could buy a brand new Chevrolet Impala in 1960? Amoung the people who have done "volunteer labour" are Vidkun Quisling and Benito Mussolini. Like Che Guevara it was more a cover than a genuine wish to help their fellow man.
He owned several Rolex watches, by the way--but he had a personal favourite watch which he wore almost everywhere.
