Madwheelin's Paraplegic Wheelchair Transfer To & From 4x4

Here I am transferring into and out of my 2007 Chevrolet 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 Pick-up Truck. I have a rigid frame chair with a folding back. I just put the wheels and the chair between the bucket seats into the back seat, or with the seats folded up onto the floor in the back. Very simple if you have the upper body strength to do it. The only modification I have on my truck is hand controls.

God dam I wanna learn that,how do you transfer thrift without the brakes on the chair ?

@lonelyboy323 I just use the wheel as the lift point rather than the rail on the chair. That way, you can keep the chair from moving. I prefer not using brakes because I can pull the chair underneath my rear as i transfer to the chair, rather than trying to get my rear to the chair where it's locked in place.

That works out pretty good! I wasn't sure if I could do it with a quad cab, thats why I went with an extended cab. Good Job!!

when you first started doing it, was it hard, then got easier and easier, iam a t6 and just starting to drive again, right now i have ford ranger ext. cab, its nice but i want something bigger. like a f-150. is you truck lowered at all??
