Steps:

1: Download the Arista font from http://www.supertag.co.cc/arista
2: Extract files to documents folder.
3: Right click fonts to install them.
4: Create a new image in gimp. For this tutorial I will use 640 X 400.
5: Use the text tool and type in the logo's text.
6: Duplicate the text layer.
7: Use the original layer as a background by setting the color to black and the font to "Arista Bold"
8: Set the color of the duplicate layer text to the color you would like to overlay over the background.
9: Use the move tool to align the two layers.
