British Pathe newsreels edited and cut together from 1943 showing fitness instruction from Rosemary Andree in an orchard. While a bloody war was in full swing, at home Britain was swinging. Harry Roy's Royalists celebrate springtime, then the prolific Harry Roy swings with his Tiger Ragamuffins, followed by other swing from Jack Leon's Dance Band and Jack Simpson Band with Betty Kent. A happy, jolly look at evacuated children in Wales, human marionettes perform The Dance of the Collywobbles for holidaymakers, a blast from the Moscow Singers, a blindly racist portrait of African 'natives' dancing and indulging in an obstacle race, girl xylophonist Pat Frost plays the Grasshoppers' Dance, complete with bad animation.

  • I think so too! Unfortunately she died in 1966. Do you have any of her records or know how I can get hold of them? Also my father was Teddy Foster if you have any of him I would also be grateful

Thank you for your lovely comment.
