adaptive music instruments using processing and max/msp. I created a variable color detection zone algorithm for tracking and zoning light movements (used mini LED torch), works best with plain background, really depends on your camera, I used my built in isight on my macbook. The MAX patch needed to work a lot and had a few sync problems so created a buffer (green and red rectangles on processing patch) to produce a cross over zone to trigger audio samples. Used drums as an example, but this is very limited, also each color can be broken down into rgb factors and used as more control parameters, e.g. add effects, play backwards, pitch bend and even control DMX (my next project) stage lighting systems. I also added a variable quadrant system that can be dragged to whatever size to suit individual, would really suit people with limited movement.
