Sr. Helen Prejean, author of the book Dead Man Walking, discusses her views on capital punishment with Michael Marsden, dean and academic vice president of St. Norbert College..
Sr. Prejean earned her B.A. in English and education from St. Marys Dominican College and an M.A. in religious education from St. Pauls University. She has performed roles as a religious education director and high school teacher, but is best known for her Pulitzer Prize-nominated book Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States. Sr. Prejeans book was on the New York Times Best Seller List for 31 weeks and was later made into a movie. Today she continues to educate the public about the death penalty by lecturing and writing.
