Update on my OBGYN apt... I see my MW again next week (-:

EDD 10/19/11
Weight gain to date: 26 lbs

He's transverse and I talk about it in the video... I'm trying not to let it bug me (and it wasn't in the least) until I read about it... ugh! When will I learn?!?!

  • What a cute top! I hope he turns for you... I know that can be worrisome. Good thoughts going your way!

  • @megandleila Thank you so much!

  • I know it won't be comfy but go in a cat position (on all fours)and try to tuck your tummy in. It's what my doctor told me to do with my breech son at 38 weeks and it worked. My daughter I had to delivery 36 weeks breech by csection but the cord was around her.

  • @Mommy2angelplus2 I so don't care if it's comfy... i will try ANYTHING! Thank you so much!

  • I know you probably know more about this than me, but I have experience with a transverse baby in the 3rd trimester. I got on my hands and knees in the evening and stretched that way with putting my forehead down and then back up. I also did the ice pack in a warm bath trick. I think it helped to rest and sleep on a firm mattress. Zoey flipped head down between 34-35 weeks and stayed that way. I was so relieved. She was born vaginally and all was well!

  • @SunnyZoey11 Thank you, thank you! I LOVE your story! I am totally going to try your methods... I will try anything right now... I just want him in position! Thank you so much for sharing!

  • I would definitively try everything you can to get him to turn on his own. My last was "directionally challenged" and I talked to a few OB's about it. He was a big boy and was too big to turn himself again after about 32-34 weeks. The OB's I talked to all told me that having a OB turn him can raise the chances of getting the cord wrapped around his neck. I tried everything I could but he was just too big and I ended up having a c/s with him. Best of luck getting him to turn on his own

  • Getting there so exciting congrats!! :)

  • I'm 35 weeks and mine in transverse too!! He's been this way since 20 weeks so I doubt mine is turning for me. My first delivery was normal but I am getting used to the idea of a c-section this time around :0( Oh well for me. Hope yours turns for ya!

  • I have a friend who had a baby who was transverse up until 37 weeks. She was terrified of having a c-section, especially since her ob/gyn wanted to do one early, well her little girl turned and she went into labor a couple days after!

  • we are naming our son Chaise Odin we got Odin because he is the "god of war and victory" yes we do believe in God but we also love mythology and greek history as well. well anyways "god of war and victory" fits because we've been through alot this pregnancy. He was a surprise for us we concieved on Christmas eve and we thought we couldnt get pregnant. We were not preventing for 2 years. The doctors thought due to the AFP test he was going to have down syndrome which he doesn't yay!

  • I did not have that problem, but I still asked my midwives the "what if" question back when I was pregnant and they said: cold on top of the belly and warm at the bottom, light (e.g. flashlight) at bottom, husband singing at bottom. And with bottom they meant......you know what. And last resort manually flipping, but that would have been done by them and only if they saw it was easy because it's dangerous. Good luck!

  • Piper did not go complete head down till 37wks! I did the rocking on "all fours" and sitting on a yoga ball and just keeping your knees far apart and gently rocking or bouncing on the ball. I was completely stressed from 31 wks till she moved. And my Dr. said that transfers is WAY better than complete head up, cause worse case scenario manual flipping or coaxing as he put it..lol

  • I had a breech baby for my first pregnancy and would like to share my experience. Before you see a chiropractor ask the ObGyn to do a 3D scan to find the umbilical cord. Trying to move the baby without know where that it is could be dangerous. We left our baby in her desired position and had a C-Section to be on the side since the cord was too close to her neck and moving her could have wrapped it around her neck.

  • holy moly your pregnancy is flying by .. as always you look incredible .. love you mama xoxox

  • P.S. Use a dryer sheet to help the static in your hair!
