  • Its also nice you left the pedals on it, they were also de rigueur in the 70's. Its 2x8, 1x4 Lute, Buff and Coupler correct??

  • Yes - and Nazard too. I hate this modern fashion for handstop instruments - I guess that economics of building has moved in the direction of pseudo authenticity - but bearing in mind that organists often used harpsichords at home, isn't it right to consider harpsichord registration in the manner of organ registration providing variety? That's something that is well done with pedals.

Have a look at "Jerzy Owczarz harpsichord" for a performer who enjoys variety often given by pedals.

  • To whoever has 1 star-itis, sorry this video is so boring. What do you think it's like working on such an instrument? Much of life is tedious - one just has to get on and do it - and when one is done one brings music to an instrument that has not seen joy in over 30 years.

Much of life is a parable. Much of life is not attainable with instant results. All good things are worth working for and towards . . .

  • Well the Nazard is what I was referring to then i mentioned the Lute (the English term for the diagonal course of jacks cut through the wrestplank - and opposed to the german term lute which we of course call the buff) But yeah its a nice fully disposed instrument. A couple of mine also have the Lute (Nazale) stop on them too... both of course are english... and its more useful as sound/color than a lot of players might imagine...

Mr. Owczarz is very talented - i saw...

  • It's a tedious business...but the end result brings great joy! I actually enjoyed the projects i worked on in the piano shop, it's the tuning that drove me buggy, my ears couldn't handle trying to sycronize the beats :)

  • So true! And the attention span of most people is getting shorter by the day. I shudder to think how few will have the patience to listen to a whole symphony, 50 years from now.
