  • I bet these people live in Alberta.

  • @000snow000 And with that; you win. I just like what Harper has done so far, but if the Canadian people decide he'll stop making good descisions, I respect that. But I would hate to see Ignatieff as PM. That would actually break my heart.

  • @canuckleful of course! Which is why I maintain that I know nothing about Stephen Harper as a person, but I can look at what he and his party stand for and know right away that I would never want him in a majority... ever.

  • @000snow000 That would cut both ways, wouldn't you agree?

  • @canuckleful Honestly, I think you need to realize that we are really not important enough for the US to go through that much trouble. We're already their biggest trading partner, that's all they want from us and they got it. I haven't read the book you refer to and I think you shouldnt take everything at face value either. Because an author criticizes someone, doesn't mean what they conclude from it is true. Noone would run for Prime Minister of a country they didn't care about.

  • @000snow000 Well I mean, he's an influential man in the US, CIA offers him millions to try to be PM, and start making decisions in American interest. That's an extreme scenario of course. But have you read Charlie Johnson in the flames? It is well planted throughout that book how much Ignatieff doesn't care about us.

  • @canuckleful working for them? You're right, that does sound ridiculous.

  • @000snow000 It could be seen as an advantage, but how do you know he's not working for them? I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's possible. Also, have you read any of his books?

  • @canuckleful Ignatieff living abroad is an advantage, he's someone who has a better understanding of the world and foreign policy so the idea that he's not a true Canadian is silly to me. If you look at what the parties and leaders stand for / what ideas they have, it's clear that Harper is the one who's trying to turn us into Americans. Trying to get rid of the gun registry, against gay marriage, more private healthcare, oh and lets not forget that he wanted us to go to Iraq back in the day...

  • @000snow000 Is that right... Then we have a common problem; there's a clown running for Prime Minister who's trying to turn my country into the United States, because all though he was born in Canada, his decades in the US have made him grow partial to it. And now he wants Manifest Destiny.
