The McMaster Thespian Company is non-profit theatre organization which specializes in developing and performing classical plays, including but not limited to scripts from Grecian, Elizabethan and Victorian eras. The company provides opportunities for students interested in performing, technical theatre, and production. It is an inclusive forum where artists and technicians from McMaster are able to develop and showcase their skills and talents. In the process, theatrical performances are created which benefit campus life and which help McMaster reach out to the surrounding community. This is the company's fifth season.

  • Read the Text!

  • And, Macbeth himself says " Besides, this Duncan Hath borne his faculties so meek, hath been So clear in his great office, that his virtues Will plead like angels, trumpet-tongued, against The deep damnation of his taking-off; And pity, like a naked new-born babe, Striding the blast, or heaven's cherubim, horsed Upon the sightless couriers of the air,

Shall blow the horrid deed in every eye, That tears shall drown the wind. "

  • @daletag More than wrong...just stupid because clearly the text shows Duncan to be a "most saintly king"

  • Having the same actor as Duncan play the Porter WHATEVER the intrpretation of performance - gives the impression that Duncan has been sent to Hell. That's just quite simply - WRONG.

  • The porter is "supposed to be" hung over, not drunk. I don't think all the naysayers here understand Shakespeare. One of the best Porter scenes I've ever seen.

  • poop

  • Yes it is a theatrical company's performance.

It was a deliberate choice on the part of our director, using the same actor who had played King Duncan, and having the witches "transform" him into the porter, whose monologue now has a more hopeless, sinister feel to it. Just a different interpretation, that's all; and personally I found it very effective. Just my opinion though. A play doesn't NEED comic relief.

  • is this some kind of joke

  • worst porter scene ive ever seen

  • comic relief fail.
