Polaris Project's 2011 Summer Fellows took to the streets to get the word out about human trafficking.
The Fellows gathered on a sidewalk near the Lincoln Memorial. Armed with a box of chalk, a video camera, and statistics about human trafficking, they set to work scrawling startling statements about modern-day slavery as commuters walked by. They filmed the process and the reactions of spectators, with the intent to inspire other people to join them by replicating the idea across the country.
Want to get in on the action?
Chalk it up!
A $5 box of chalk + friends + information about human trafficking = Your Act of Abolition!
We can't change an issue people don't know exists.
Let's hit the sidewalks, and be the voice that gets others talking.
