Well if you like this kind of harmony, just search for some bulgarian folklore music!... I like Yoko Kanno, but was very surprised to see her name over this song when heard it on lastfm...

omg, we almost sang this in choir last year. I was the only alto who could get the 'dum digi digi's'. Ultimately, it was too much work and we didn't have enough time. too bad, I LOVE this song!

Even though I don't consider myself a spiritual person, some of Yoko Kanno's music really brings you places. It's funny how most of her lyrics are complete gibberish, but still tell you a 'story'. It sounds cheesy, but I think the non-sense lyrics are there for you to make your own interpretations. Like After In the Dark ~ Torch Song or grace~omega, Yoko Kanno composes perhaps the most enticing songs I've ever listened too.

This piece is based on bulgarian folklore motives and performed by bulgarian singers :)
But not many bulgarian composers can use them in the way the genius of Yoko Kanno did.
