This railroad drawbridge is usually kept up. I managed to find it in the down position with a train carrying containers going to Terminal 5 in the port of Seattle.
For most drawbridges, marine traffic gets automatic priority, but in many cases, passages under drawbridges are planned in advance to minimize traffic disruption either on the waterwar or on the rails.
Neato..we used to have one like it in Los Angeles Harbor, Calif. (See "Fruitvale Bridge", and my comments underneath). That's a very common turss cdrawbridge, Strauss Overhead Heel Trunnion Bascule (what a mouthful).
oh sweet i saw that bridge many times when i go to church either up or down. does any locomotive trains go on it anymore?

I'm wondering what will happen if there is a boat and a train coming through. What would they do?
