The Mattel Intellivision was released in 1980 to compete with the very popular Atari 2600 system.

  • I had a Sears Tele-Games model of the Intellivison and I also had the Intellivoice Module and I can say the voices most certainly do not come from the module itself. That is what I first thought before I plugged it in. The voices come from the TV, the volume control allows you to control the volume of the voices on the TV. It is kind of like on more modern games where you can adjust the music volume and the speech volume separately. I'm not sure why you said it comes from the module.

  • Utopia!

  • I picked up intellivision lives for ps2 the other day for four dollars. sadly it doesnt have burgertime on it.

  • Hi John, love your channel. I've had an intellivision model 1 since 1983 and have burgertime and other games. am getting the RF jack and the player 1 controller fixed at the moment

the one thing that is different with the machine I have is that it featured a removable AC power cord like the Sony playstation 2 has, its not hard wired. that must be an american thing. I do hate anything with a hard wired power cord

  • @Gamester81 your reviews are awesome and informitive, keep 'em up!

  • Anyone else more distracted by Pac-man than the review?

  • Thanks for the great review! I had one of the Intellivisons systems back in the day and remember the games you reviewed.

  • @sandog39 Wow, for a 40 year old that is a really immature thing to post. You must be a moron.

  • The business aspect of the video game industry of that time always facinates me. How everything was touch and go until something was released. And the advertising was a carnival show of big hopes.

  • i want one!!
