Surprisingly, any pubescent boy can reach those notes. It's called singing in falsetto.

They wrote the lyrics for a higher voice on Jim's part- the kid was 16! His voice is cracking, you can hear it through the movie...

I just saw A Few Best Men and looked Kevin Bishop up on imdb. Could not BELIEVE (it's obvious how much it couldn't believe it by my use of capitals) he was Jim Hawkins from one of my favourite movies as a kid.

I think people are being way too harsh on Jim's singing voice. He was only young in this film probably about 12 and his voice hadn't broken yet. At least he CAN sing and in tune as well. I don't know for sure, but his voice could be dubbed and he may be lip-synching. He may really be singing. And for the record, quit mentioning Justin Bieber as this film has NOTHING to do with him. I'm sick of him popping up on EVERY video -_-
