Michael Jackson, Apollo Theater

Me, Joshinvents, and my mom scarcely made it onto the line to see the Michael Jackson tribute at the Apollo Theater, Harlem. Aprox. 1h 35m wait, very fun. We were like a community in the crowd-- all of us chatting with each other. It was a very entertaining crowd: one time, a 7 year old boy went into the middle of the street and moonwalked! It was fun! Then it poured VERY HARD. I got all drenched. We all hid under eachother's umbrellas! (My mom says it's like Woodstock.) When they finally let us in (after alot of loud complaining/cheering), 600 people per every 45 minutes, we had a great concert, with music, sing-alongs, DJs, montages, etc. Thing was, they only gave us a 17 minute concert "because other people are waiting in the rain." We were very disappointed, but we had alot of fun! It was an adventure! (5:45 concert).

Thanks for posting. I bet the energy in the theater was amazing. I only caught the crowd shots from CNN today.

Yeah, this was my first time too!

He's gonna have a real concert somewhere soon... it was scheduled to happen before the, um, death, and is still on. I dont think it's in NY, though...
