Testimony of Manjit
Was formerley a Sikh and became a Christian from Reading the book Great Controversy.

Do you understand what you believe in? Do you understand why you do certain things? These questions were posed to me sometime ago. In fact it was my brother who asked me. At first I ignored him, then I did ask myself the question and was horrified with the answers. I feel convicted to tell you my story just how it happened.

I am from a Sikh background, my parents brought me up to believe in God and to trust him, and to be good, but I was never able to be a strict practising Sikh. I would pray to God often and ask him for his help but I was never prepared to do anything for him in return.

In 1988 while studying at university I went home one weekend to visit my family. I was very close with my family especially with my brother. To my horror he had changed in just a short period of time from when I last met him. He started preaching about God to the family. My brother had completely changed, and I thought he had gone mad. Although I believed in God I thought it was to severe to be completely religious in the 1980's, I thought God would understand. However I have always had convictions to come close to God but I always thought I was never good enough to become holy, or that it would not be practical in a society such as ours, besides I thought I was good enough to enter heaven.

Apparently a couple of weeks earlier on a training course he was put next to a christian who was putting together some bible studies during lunch times on his computer, about the end of the world. This subject has always fascinated me and my brother, and so his curiosity got the better of him. He started asking him questions and then they became friends. Now when he told me that, I thought he had gone mad because he was speaking a lot about Jesus to me. I thought this christian guy had hypnotised my brother.

Then he challenged the family. He asked us "Do you really understand what you believe in?" and "How do you know you are going to be saved?" I thought it was a silly question, my father just laughed at the question and my mother told him to shut up. However I listened because I knew in the past that my brother wasn't stupid but a sensible intelligent and logical person, so I eventually gave him the benefit of the doubt. I did't really want to answer him, so he asked me one other question, "How do you know that Sikhism can save you? When all the other religions claim the same thing but all contradict Sikhism?". We then talked for a long time on religion....

  • The converts of Sikhism came from Hinduism and Islam. Guru Nanak was born into a Hindu family and therefore born as a Hindu.

What is it that I do not understand about Sikhism?

  • Is God actually looking for Spiritual people? No - he is looking for people that have faith in HIm and want to partake of His Righteousness. Lets be very clear - when you comapre Sikhism to Islam as an example there are too many differences in the beliefs that they teach to state that both paths take you to the same direction, God cannot be the author of confusion - He either has one teaching on a matter or not - when you die you either reincarnate or you go to sleep and await the resurrection?

  • @finalevents The guy is really confused. He may be born in Sikh family but not really looked into it or read about it. Few question just got him confuse like a baby.Well the good thing is,he is practicing a religion now. that's may be batter than not practicing or not reading about any religion at all.

TheBadthing is,What Indian guy is saying about Sikhism,That is not true at all.Sikhism did not come from Muslims.Hopefully he reads about Sikhism and realizes what he said, is not true.

  • This is sooo stupid why does he called Sikhsim Darkness. Spiritual people will never think like that no matter what relgion they are from. Hippocrite.

  • @G716M When you are not walking in truth you are in Darkness. Think about it - When the Gurus came they did not say be a better Hindu or Muslim - they taught them to be better deisciples of God and called them out into a seperate religion? WHY? They should have stayed Hindus or Muslims - but no - according to the Gurus God sent them to teach mankind the true light. Think very carefully of what you say and believe - the Bible is clear about darkness and light and so was the Guru clear as well.

  • @finalevents ok man tell me this. Sikhism means repsect one of each other, no caste, everyones equal and to respect another religion and love god. Like a sikh guru sacrificed his religion for the Hindu. so that means im not seeing the light?

  • @G716M sikh faith is confused and baseless thats why it is dark

  • @finalevents Dat u r an idiot, was christ born as christian ? Was prophet Mohammad born as a muslim? was krishna a hindu?(for ur knowledge hinduism is not a religious word)..krishna was a kshatriya...so does that mean that brahman's should not follow his teaching(y follow anyway)....

  • @finalevents a Hindu family But remember NO ONE is born into a religion when these babies grow up they are taught by their Parents about the religion which they follow. Guru Nanak was defo born into a Hindu family but he was not a Hindu. He didnt want to even create another religion Guru Nanak wanted unit people Love eachother as brothersndSisters Pray to God TOGETHER. The guy in the video has extremely little knowledge of the religion.

  • @finalevents I Guess, That's what you don't understand. I believe, you May have never looked into Sikhism in detail. I guess that all you knew Guru Nanak Dev ji born in Hindu family. I think you never looked into, how many people scarified and gave their life for others in Sikhism and how brave and honest they were.

Anyway, If it is your testimony, I am glad you. You have started somewhere. It is not about, What religion you belong to . I believe, it is about being a good human.

  • @finalevents Lol The Sikhs Gurus have written all about the prohecys and they are written without any riddles like in the bible, prophecy are nothing new, Hinduism has been doing that stuff for thosands of years before christianity existed. Yes there will be one world religion at the end of this dark age, and it will be atheism my friend.

  • lmao this guy cracks me up, Sikhism is not from either Islam or Hinduism. lol This guy has never read any Sikh scriptures, and is instead intrerested in hocus pocus and magic tricks, get back to reality!!!! lol thank God this guy is no longer a Sikh, hes embrassing.
