When you put the water in to heat up, add three tablespoons of lemon juice to the water. Not only does it help in degreasing the microwave, it also makes it smell nice!

maybe you can use a slice of lemon in the water in the cup, should give a nice freshness

I always cleaned my microwave this way...twice a month I clean it with baking soda...my microvawe looks and smells BRAND NEW! :)
