@BrianEaZy The guy at the back collects the money. But wait until he asks you for the fare. Maybe he didn't notice (fat chance )

Good thing SF stuck with keeping this cable car system unlike L.A. which is now facing daily traffic jams!
-
@an80sGuy Besides, it probably scares the shit out of people when hanging on the side too, they're probably holding on tight! XD just a thought.

@TheWindowdog depends on what you have, you can have a pass or a ticket on board, We bought ours for 20 bucks per person.
-
@lapayasitachula Is it 5 dollars a trip, or is that a round trip. Do they have a Muni mponthly pass.
-
@an80sGuy If they did not ride like that it would not be San francisco Mate. Rice a Roni it is the San Francisco treat. They should have 2 more cable car lines.
-
i would love to ride these i have always had fasination for trams since I was a kid when taking a trip to Blackpool I used to think it was the only place world until I saw US tv show
in the UK & saw these cable cars on shows like The Streets Of San Francisco I also later lurned San Francisco has Trams similer to Blackpools railcoach trams silmiler livery in green & cream
Would you pay the driver once you get on ? What if i just step onto the side? lol

@BrianEaZy They have a conductor to collect the fare and check the tickets. They are good at spotting people stepping onto the side. You probably stand a better chance of boarding a Muni bus through the back door without paying, then riding a cable car without paying.

and yet these people hang on the side
risking death

Well of course fire trucks travel at a much greater speed then cable cars. But yeah, I see you point. According to local media reports, SF cable cars are the single most dangerous form of transportation in the country. Then again ten million people a year ride them, and all but a relatively few have a safe ride.
