Does it get any better than the opening here? Or the way the synth brass sounds at 1:12?

I don't think so.

SEGA's sound team in the mid 80's to early 90's were pretty amazing.

  • Sounds like Sunsoft for a second (I'm thinking of how they handled the music in the Genesis port of Lemmings...)

The YM2151 pretty much owns all the other FM chips ever made IMO (but the 2612/2610/2608 and YMF262 make pretty strong showings too.)

  • In terms of mass-produced FM chips, the one used in the dx7 is a little better than the YM2151 - but for computers/video games - YM2151 was probably the best FM chip.

For synthesizers, there is the Yamaha FS1R, which is quite an amazing piece of technology, even by today's standards.

  • 1:10 the song "It Doesn't Matter" of Sonic Adventure comes from Quartet :')

  • 1:12

It doesn't matter, now, what happens, I will never give up the fight!

  • In before Project DIVA commentators.

  • WHERE CAN I FIND THIS OR Q2 MAME ROM?

  • illDiology, you are the shit for uploading this. This game's music totally blew me away in the arcade when I was a kid. Great game too...I could not get enough of it. The Master System version was pretty lame compared to the arcade, but that's how things were back in those days.

  • que tiempos!!!!!!

  • EPIC THEME MUSIC!!! You know, I guess the name of this song even before I knew it "Theme of Quartet"

  • this is one of the best first-stage musics in gamedom, any platform

it sets a mood of excitement and adventure

getting you pumped to destroy the hordes of annoying enemies to come

  • I was humming this the other day out of the blue. Amazing how games from so long ago had such catchy tunes.
