@zettadom . There are not many Lost Girls alive. Most females a raped, killed, or both. Many are sold into the sex slave trade and some become household servants to their captors. I just met a Sudanese Lost Boy yesterday. His story is very moving.

to all our southern Sudanese brothers im from the north please don't believe this this is all a hit from usa to separate us from you so they find you easy to control and still your wealth (jewelery and oil) alot of them live with us eat and drink from the Nile we are brothers .

For a while there was a lot of publicity surrounding "Lost Boys" the typical american heard only about boys. I wondered why the documentary "The lost Boys" was not called the "Lost Children" and the girls given equal time instead of token mention. I still think that was wrong to do to the girls. Perhaps your organization is working hard to right that wrong, if so, I'm sorry, but it's never been evident from the media focus on the boys, they still ignore the girls or give token mention only

I don't know why you are being so defensive. I am not part of an organization, nor have claimed to be, that helps the Sudanese. You are. There is a difference. I would like to support you but would like to know it is an gender equitable organization.
I have seen many headlines and appearances on talk shows about the Lost Boys, celebs talk about them yet the girls are only mentioned in passing if at all. Why? Perhaps it would be fair to put emphasis on the girls for a while to compensate.

What have you done personally to help the girls in Sudan? That is the question. It is easy to criticize other people, but it is much more difficult to actually do the hard work of helping people. Put your actions where your words are and DO something positive that will help these people. If you need ideas of what you can do, contact us on facebook, and we will give you lots of ideas. Thanks!!!

Have an equal number of young girls been given opportunity to come to America as the boys?.
Are you working as hard to make this happen as with the boys?
If not, why?
It might take longer and require more effort to relocate an equivalent number of young women but I believe is could be done. The girls plight seems to only get lip service but little action. If that is not true, what is being done? If anything girls suffer more, I would rather be on my own in the wild than a sex slave.

We are very much concerned with the girls of Sudan as well. In America we have deep compassion for all the people in Sudan, so this comment is very misguided. Visit our group on Facebook for more information:
Sudanese Lost Boys and Girls Volunteers Association, Inc.
Thank You!

the boys if cought they get kill but girls get kidnap and they wont survive as much as this boys does.

What about the girls? If anything they have suffered even worse but their story is being practically ignored. Don't girls matter as much as boys? Apparantly not to americans, they seem only concerned with male suffering.
impossible to imagine! Shows the indominitable spirit of a human to survive against all odds. Can't beleive this still goes on. Thank goodness the will to survive can outweigh the will to destroy and dominate or there would be one power. We must do better than this!

I am friends with quite a few of the lost boys. Their story is absolutely amazing. It's amazing that humans can endure so much pain, and still be so strong. I dated a "lost boy" and he is an amazing person. So strong. I now have a sudanese baby and I thank god he is in america safe, fed, warm, and comfortable. everyday.
