Indeed he was. Anyone who makes a western today still has Sergio's standards to live up to. A VERY tough call.

@gurneyer there's some still photographs of them in bed together taken on set, but the scenes are not on the DVD or original release and were sadly probably never filmed...

ehm, i would probably get problems with copyright laws
besides, the movie lasts about 90 minutes...
if you want to see the whole movie, buy the dvd!
