They say Alice was the NICEST person in the industry!!!!
-
@ATsarIsBorn Copyright issues, probably. That section quotes a bit of "Begin the Beguine" and they'd have had to pay to use it in the movie.

@cdbpdx Monotonous is readily available on numerous Kitt compilation CD's as well as the import CD of the "New Faces of 1952" Soundtrack

I got a kick out of this... maybe you have to have lived in Boston! : )

Heh, hard to believe this is the same actress whose character in Designing Women sang "black man, black man, where did you come from? black man, black, where did you go?" I'm surprised she can sing very well. :o

This version omits the bridge:
We drank till the strings of my heart all seemed to be knotted --
And even the palms -- they seemed to be potted --
I wonder why.

I saw the show three times! I have the record, but I would love to have the movie!

Excellent! I have the old 78 rpm record with this song but this is great to actually see her perfoming! Very different than I had envisioned listening to the record since I only know her as an older woman from later movies and TV. Thanks! The seach goes on for Eartha Kit performing 'Monotonous'.
I had no idea Alice Ghostly could sing like that.
