  • If you know where I can acquire this video in its original form please post it below. Thanks

  • This was amazing, thank you for posting this and restoring it, I have always wanted to hear his voice. He's my Grandfather, and I recently did a highschool junior english paper on a personal hero; and him and my Grandmother have been my heroes for as long as I can remember. Seeing this video just shocked us all because my Mum didn't remember him doing this until it was found on here. She couldn't get over the fact that it was like him and I knew eachother. He was killed 20 years before my birth.

  • I'm glad it was usefull to you, I also used this video in college. I have lots of respect for your grandfathers work.

  • That was excellent. Thank u very much mighty589. Where did u find this footage? It is fascinating. Notice the metal film cans? Burrows is my favourite of all the Vietnam War era photographers for obvious reasons.

  • The clip comes from the movie "Reporters De Guerre" by Patrick Chauvel so you may want to find that movie for a better quality and maybe more content.

  • I just thought Id say hi, as your grandfather is my idol and his work inspired me to become a conflict journalist. Its such a sad loss for your family, but he did great work. I am presenting a paper at a conference next month on how photojournalists can have an effect on conflict reduction - I specifically refer to Larry Burrows, Don McCullun and Phillip Jones Griffiths. Even Nixon acknowledged what role the media played in ending the war-no journalist made a greater contribution than Burrows!

  • @ignitetheskyy As terrible as it is to know that your grandfather died in a war that was not of his own making, know that so many of us around the world regard him as the very finest war photographer of all. Larry Burrow was a genius and photographic journalism is better for his time on this planet.

  • wow.

  • The metal film cans were mat black inside and lightproof as such. We used them quite resently still on long assignments to keep film in to be sure harsh light does not effect the film. I still have a couple lying around somewhere - digital changed the game completely though... Burrows in my fav too!

  • What a man, what a photographer! Thanks for posting

  • Excellet work!
