A video I shot and edited, as part of the coursework for my Fall 2011 Collaborative Projects class at New York University. The video documents a young woman's trip, from Washington Square Park to the 9/11 memorial. I did not have a Steadicam rig, so please forgive any shakiness.
The song is Bruce Springsteen's "My City of Ruins," performed as part of a 9/11 memorial concert in 2001. I do not own any rights to this music and it belongs to its rightful owners.
The footage from ABC and of the memorial lights is not mine and belongs to its rightful owners.
This video was used in an educational setting and was not made for profit.
If the family of Juan Armando Ceballos happens to see this video, our actress did not personally know him, nor did we intentionally choose to feature his name.
When we approached the south tower memorial pool, we had made a choice to shoot these scenes on a side of the pool that would allow us to pan from the pool floor and up the new WTC tower. We were walking along the pool's edge and felt compelled to stop in front of Juan's name. We saw his name, stopped to look and contemplate, and then were surprised when we realized that this spot was the perfect position for our shot. We're not sure what made us stop.
