@Matuatay2 This is a year old I know, but speaking from experience, unfortunately, but it can be made a stipulation in the divorce papers, and of course before the judge, that the woman takes back her maiden name. It is a legal name change. Considering Laura had that quickie one-sided divorce, I doubt that option was open for her.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana married a few months earlier in July 1981. Now that their son William is getting married, I'm remembering the year and I distinctly remember Luke and Laura getting married at the same time. Cool. Very cool!

I've heard that done before in real weddings. I guess the woman technically keeps the name even after divorce, unless she decides to have it erased completely. Not sure how that works.
