This is Part 1 of the dedication ceremony to honor the late James (Jimmy) Griffin with the Brass Note on Beale Street. This joyful and informal event commenced at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 20, 2010 - a beautiful summer-like day with a number of family, friends and fans in attendance.
Ken Hall of Performa Entertainment Real Estate, which presently manages the Beale Street entertainment district, is the MC. Speaking next in this segment is Richard Ranta, Dean of Communications and Fine Arts at the University of Memphis. Following Dr. Ranta are Jamey and Katy, the older children of Jimmy Griffin. (Part 3 finishes with Jamey singing one of his Dad's songs.)
The new, official Jimmy Griffin website is a wealth of information, photos and quotations, and it is found at http://www.jimmygriffinmusic.com/ . The brand new compilation of 12 never-released-before songs has its own website here: http://www.jimmygriffinalbum.com/

@RUTHGEE You're welcome! Like Vincent Van Gogh, I think the best of Jimmy's work is yet to be revealed, and someday he'll be a household word.

@Paducahdy You're welcome! And in the midst of all that windy, chilly weather that's been going on, what a beautiful, warm, dry and sunny day to emerge (appropriately) for this event!
