Steve's first ever UK appearance. The producers of the show stuffed the audience with as many American tourists as they could button-hole on the streets of London - since Steve was then a virtual unknown in England and they were afraid the audience wouldn't laugh!

I find it hard to believe that Steve Martin was relatively unknown in the UK in 1987 considering how long his career had been going at that point in time and the number of movies he had already made by then.
