Dr Shideh Pouria at the Burghwood Clinic in Surrey, London has agreed to provide the necessary pre-treatment to end Rudi's silent suffering and maybe secure a normal future for this bright brown-eye boy. Although the family has agreed to travel to the UK, the exorbitant costs are problematic. The medical fund does not cover the expenses which could amount to more than R100 000 for the treatment alone, this excludes the airfare, accommodation, transport and so forth. The whole process could amount to about R60 000 per person. Travelling to the USA will dramatically increase the expenses.
The family has managed to obtain a few donors, but it is not nearly enough to cover the costs.
Rudi is registered with Jacaranda Feelgood (http://jacarandafm.amazee.com/node/18206/sponsoring for any donations. Alternatively, contact Rudi's maternal grandmother, Mrs Roelien Northcote on 079-971-3686.
