This is a demo video of a modified Nine continent hub motor to be able to switch from STAR to DELTA mode while driving.

THIS TEST DONT SHOW THE MAX ADVANTAGE POSSIBLE ABOUT THAT CAUSE THE ROAD FOR THE TEST WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH TO REACH THE MAX SPEED.

The normal ratio of a Star to Delta is exactly 1.73x and in this video it show from 35kph to 45kph . I tested that yesterday with a longer road and it reached 55kph so 55/35= 1.58x that is close to the predicted value.

test conditions:
-TREK 970 bike frame
-nine continent motor RH205 9 x 7 winding
-12 x 4110 mosfet ecrazyman controller limited to around 40A (did 1800W on that test on acceleration 0-10kmh)
-44.4V nominal Li-Mn battery 23Ah
-Outdoor temp: 6 degre C
-Full throttle in both test run

Normally that motor and using 48V would allow faster acceleration but the controller current limit is too low from now

  • I'm not much expert, but I assume you need increase Voltage to get more speed.

  • It's like a gear change, but all electrically accomplished.

    What great engineering!

  • hmm looks like im picking up a gps:)
