Samsung i8910 Omnia HD Unboxed

We unbox the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD Symbian smartphone. This is an Italian version that has been sent to all of the Samsung Omnia HD Ambassador's.

I only noticed afterwards that the key-ring phone stand was missing that was seen in the Orange UK SKUs! We'll be posting more videos and guides in the future - stay tuned!

How did you know it was the Italian version? Can you find anything on the box that says its Italian?

Haven't got the box to hand, but as far as I remember there was no Italian writing on it.

How did we know it was Italian? When turning the phone on, it boots up in Italian. Plus Samsung PR told us it was the Italian SKU too.

Ahh, do you think that you get any problems with repairing the mobile if its an import of another country? I read something about imports from other countries and that Repair Service Points rejected the phone because of that.. i dont think its because of the hardware.. i am a little scared because i get maybe an 'import' version overtomorrow

I'm sure that if you buy an import from within the EU, you'll be covered. This is what Samsung UK says on its website:

"Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd. support a product purchased in Europe if it has an EU Bloc Warranty. This warranty is present where the top of the product warranty card clearly states 'European Bloc."

awesome video man! ive been interested in this phone since it was announced, and ive been reading your blog for a long time also now. i also red on your blog that the phone was getting a re-launch on 1 august. can you confirm this is really the case? btw 5 stars m8, again nice video!

Thanks! Regarding the re-launch, it's all speculation right now. We were sent the Italian version which could mean the UK units are still not ready yet.

As soon as we hear anything concrete we'll keep you updated via the blog!

Recently purchased my i8910 and was "blown away" by the picture quality. Was considering the Nokia N97.... however, buying the i8910 was one of the best decisions I've made. No regrets at all!!

Great video, am going in to Orange shop to upgrade to this phone tomorrow. And the screen protecor ordered isnt coming for a few days so glad to see all the handset is protected. Thanks, helped a lot.
