@berkeleyrican These thoughts were of my own thinking. I have been sliding up my right foot for years. Look at some of my videos. Hammer

@wholebrainplanet - i think you may have gotten that thought from lagpressure. it's always good to quote thy sources.

BTW, this and other vids of Hogan and others dispel the myth of the necessity of the wide-open shoulder position at impact. Take a look where Knudson is (on the up-the-line shot) until a long way into the downswing--shoulders stay well turned. Anybody who wants to see this with Hogan, ping me and I'll point you to the vid.

Boy, you can really see that right elbow fold early under the rotation of the forearms on the way back--just like Hogan, just like Faldo learned to do when he was #1 in the world. Apparently some great ballstrikers (including Knudson) manage to do that, so it might just be a good idea.

Look at George slide that right foot up big time. Hogan also slid his foot too. Today's teachers frown upon this move. For these guys it was a very important aspect of total weight transfer to the left side. Hammer

"Knudson has a million-dollar swing and a 10-cent putter.

I agree with the natural movements of the body caused by swing.
You can see that with the golf swings of the very young children as young as
3 years old.
Their body movements often surprisingly resembles that of pros & very natural!
And I really don't think they were taught to do that;

Look again. His head moves back and down, then forward and up. Its bobbing around all over the place.
Byron Nelson used to say it this way: Freedom down below helps the head stay still (or at least steady). It's totally true. Good freedom of motion, the right sequence, etc., usually leaves the head in more or less the same spot; it's always the guys who are locked up, who don't know how the arms rotate or the hands release or the plane the club is supposed to move on, etc., who move their heads all over the place because they have to; their bodies are forcing them into a lunge.
